Sheps fall to Sentinels 13-1

The Shepherds lost to the Arroyo Seco Sentinels today by the score of 13-1. After starting 4-1, the Shepherds are now 4-4 with two more games to go on the road this week.   

The Shepherds tried to get the scoring started in the top of the first but Shane Poe was thrown out at home trying to score from second on a single to left. 

The Arroyo Seco Sentinels responded in the bottom of the second with four two-out runs to open the game strong. A two out triple and double both scored two runs to give the Sentinels their 4-0 lead heading into the third. 

The Sheps got one back in the top of the third as a wild pitch allowed Brandon Adams to score from third before the side was retired. 

The Sentinels score four more in the fourth after four walks two singles and an error as they took a commanding lead by the score of 8-1. 

They would score five more in the fifth as it was all sentinels in this game, extending their lead to 13-1. 

The Shepherds gave up a total of nine hits, eight walks and two HBP.

The game was cut short and ended after the seventh inning with the final score of 13-1, giving the Shepherds their third loss in a row after a three game winning streak. 

The Shepherds will try to end the losing streak tomorrow morning against the Ventura County Pirates at LA Valley College at 11 AM.
