At SoCal FCA Baseball, we provide a transformative baseball camp experience rooted in Christian values. Our camp is dedicated to fostering skill development, teamwork, and spiritual growth among young athletes. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse to join our team, ensuring the health and well-being of our campers.

Position Overview:

The Christian Baseball Camp Nurse will be responsible for providing medical care to campers and staff, promoting a safe and healthy environment. This role involves managing health-related issues, responding to medical emergencies, and providing health education aligned with our camp's Christian mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical Care: Provide first aid and medical assistance to campers and staff as needed. Assess and treat minor injuries, illnesses, and medical emergencies in a timely and effective manner.

  • Health Assessments: Conduct health screenings and assessments for campers before and during the camp session. Maintain accurate health records and communicate with parents regarding health concerns.

  • Medication Management: Oversee the administration of prescribed medications to campers, ensuring compliance with medical guidelines and parental instructions.

  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency medical procedures and ensure that camp staff are trained in basic first aid and CPR.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with camp directors and staff to ensure a safe environment for all participants. Participate in camp meetings to discuss health and safety protocols.

  • Spiritual Support: Offer emotional and spiritual support to campers in alignment with our Christian values, fostering a caring and supportive atmosphere.

Qualifications:

- Current nursing license (RN, LPN, or NP) or currently pursuing a nursing degree in college.

- Previous experience in a camp, school, or community health setting preferred.

- Strong assessment and clinical skills.

- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Passion for working with children and youth in a Christian environment.

- Familiarity with basic sports-related injuries and their management is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.

- Must be able to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings.
